its used to be normal for most drivers to get their seat in a team only if they could bring a minumum amount of sponsorship money into a team, ie
basically paying for their own drive. Looks like its still common practice.
Compare that to what football ponces get paid for kicking a pigs bladder about for 90 mins. Not really comparable is it?
Poor (relatively speaking) Rubens!
i heard that he took a pay cut from 10m to 3m just so Brawn could use the spare cash on car development.

poor ickle jason, only £3.05m
I'd be very pleased with just the £ 0.05 m !!!
PS - is it really necessary to post 3 times?!?!?!?!
plus buton had to pay all his own expenses, for his montage, so £3 million less tax and ni would prob be down to £1.9 million after tax - less expenses of £50k per month for travel etc ... The poor guy is on the breadline ..
I remember them saying that Hamilton could become a $(?)billionaire with all the sponsorship he'd get.
Granted, Kimi earns more as a driver, but he's not anywhere near as marketable as Hamilton.
In fact, if Hamilton got £1 for every picture of him in my local Abbey National he could retire now!
Cheers,
James
