Samsung i8000 Omnia II - any good?

I'm thinking of getting one of these. It's more than I wanted to spend but it seems like a good one. Anyone on here any experience of them before I shell out?

Looks like a more modern version of my O2 stellar, those little keys a very little and unless you have hands like a Barbie Doll they are a pita to use, my fingers covered 3 keys.

I have an Omnia, if your used to a windows mobile and are comfortable with its short commings then go for it, if not and you want a touch screen phone get an iPhone as they just work and work well without the crappy glitches from WM.
Other than that the new HTC running android are quite slick.

Having owned an Omnia and getting frustrated with the touch screen i wouldnt get another.

Erm, it doesn't have any keys, it's all touch screen.

I've never used windows mobile. What's wrong with it? And what's the problem with the touch screen? That said, the screen on the Omnia II is all new.

my omnia's great i'll be looking at the same phone as you in feb unless something more new and shiney comes along. early omnia's had problems with the screen alignmeant changing, and having to be re aligned apparently
as for windows mobile i've got wm6.1 and it works well, some of the setting are more complicated than a normal phone, but only need doing once, other than that i can't fault it

I think the main problem is i have been tainted by the iPhone.
For instance, drag something on the iPhone and it drags, try to do the same on the Omnia and it doesnt or does but you have to wait a second for it to catch up or try to open a menu and it doesnt work etc.
I just find the Omnia(The hardware is probably great) or rather Windows Mobile just isnt as slick as the iPhone.
In fact Microsoft admitted how much WM sucks!!

If your willing to spend that much money on a phone i really would urge you to have a look at all the top touch screen phones(HTC, Samsung, iPhone, etc) in the same store at the same time if possible and try to do similar tasks on them all and decide for yourself.

another vote for the htc hero ,,,its a brilliant solid piece of kit. i was going for the iphone but last minute changed my mind and glad i did .
