For fun, I want to copy a DVD (the matrix actually) onto my windows mobile PDA / phone. My PC won't let me copy the VIDEO_TS folder saying access denied. How can I do this?

You'll need some DVD "ripping" software to circumvent the DVD anti-piracy security.
Then I'd use another prog to convert it to the correct size for you device (if it has to resize the screen size on the fly it'll be sloooow)

To start with get DVD decrypter.
That'll get the DVD onto your hard disk.

then you need to resize it.

There are quite a few free "Ipod" converters out there which will convert videos into smaller files for such a purpose.

I use this one

Be prepared to have a bit of a wait though, transposing video formats is a processor hungry task... Typically 7-8 hours on my desktop from BBC iplayer to Ipod.

Try Handbrake - it should be able to rip direct into a usable format/size which you can then active-sync across to the PDA.

Handbrake is what I use. You need vlc installed as well (it's a dvd player) to enable handbrake to copy protected discs. Both are free & dead easy to use.

Second Vlc - it will play most things and you can add various codecs
