Ecommerce site and hosting wanted, any suggestions
MK9R - 26/11/09 at 04:08 PM

I'm looking at setting up a webshop, that will be selling upto 2500 products. The product data will need to be imported in CSV or xml format. I am happy to build and maintain the site myself based on a template, but i won;t be able to do the code side of things so its got be an off the shelf style of shop. I also need to keep stock levels uptodate, and this will be fed from a live csv data feed from the central supplier warehouse. Ideally i'd like the stock levels to be totally automated from the live feed.

I've found a couple of places, but the sites are very clunky, so looking for something slick, but will also allow me to customise the the visual side of things
Has anyone got any suggestions for which ecommerce sites to use.

I use dataflame for a website. Not sure what their e-commerce is like but they're a pretty good provider, might be worth a look,

My aunt does web design. She made a template for mine which i have been working with.

This is her shop which she has built up over a few years and here is her web design website.

Give Vidahost a look...They offer a number of "one click install" programes... one of which is a shop...

Their technical support is the best I have experienced...

for webhosting, i can highly recommend Orchard Hosting. Used them since 2001 and not a bad word to say about their service. They have some ecommerce auto-install packages but i have never used any of them so cant comment on that aspect. Tom at OH is very helpful though so if you contact him, he will be able to give you some heads up about the different programs.
