fesycresy - 10/12/09 at 03:06 PM

Cutting it fine, you must be joking

a sad story

Now that was cutting it fine

locostbuyer83 - 10/12/09 at 03:08 PM

lets have your budget and who you have to buy for....

blakep82 - 10/12/09 at 03:13 PM

^ thats me most years. don't want that again, but got no ideas at all.

well, got 5 people (or sets of people) to buy for
mum
dad
brother (and his bird)
sister (and her husband)
and my bird Laura

laura's easy enough, so thats done
dad, just a small token thing, he's had his favourite mug he's always drank tea from for about the last 30 years, so i got him another identical one last year. its from a set of 6, so was going to get him all 6 over time

just leaves the rest.
real problem is, mum and sister are cabin crew on the airlines, so they can get (read already got) anything they could ever want from all over the place, and my brother does pretty well for himself too. not like me who's always poor lol

budget, not a huge amount, maybe £30 each

If anyone's looking for those toy Hamster things, they're in stock on the Tesco site ATM if you're quick

I've just ordered 2 as presents, hard to find !

Phil.J - 10/12/09 at 04:14 PM

Gift vouchers! Boots, Asda, Demon Tweeks etc.
Not vet imaginative but better than nothing!

fesycresy - 10/12/09 at 04:21 PM

Amazon is your friend.

All my pressies are sorted early this year and I'll spill the beans on a Christmas Eve post re last years outcome (from work as usual) because I ain't doing any bloody work that day

For your dad and brother

Iv pretty much done all mine. Just got to get my sisters and 1 bro inlaw summit.
Done my missus if it ever turns up which it had better as it cost a fortune!. Most of mine is from amazon. The prices are quid good on there this year!

Ben_Copeland - 10/12/09 at 05:13 PM

Ask them what they want.... simples.

They get what they actually want and not some random crap they throw in the bin 6months later.
You don't have the hassle of thinking.

I hate it when people waste money on crap, when they could of just asked and got me something i actually want.

blakep82 - 10/12/09 at 07:05 PM

thansk for all the ideas guys
i've have a sneaky plan
ask my mum what to get, she gives me ideas, and that just leaves me to think of something to get her lol

GMPMotorsport - 10/12/09 at 07:24 PM

Why not get them a go in a supercar? www.DriversDreamDays.co.uk or www.everymanracing.co.uk
A great experience.

is everyone talking about the kind of facial you get pics of when you type it into google images with safe search off?
definitely NOT giving that to my mum and sister!

David Jenkins - 10/12/09 at 07:55 PM

I'm ignoring you mucky lot!

Some friends of mine have the best idea - they agree a budget, then he buys her what he really wants and she buys him what she really wants...

...once they're opened they swap them over.

Demen tweaks, how 1970's

steve m - 10/12/09 at 08:09 PM

I bought my wife a push bike earlier in the year, as she could only go in straight lines

Unfortuantley, she learned how to turn !!
so it, and her are still here !

hahahaha

RichardK - 10/12/09 at 09:33 PM

I've just finished mine tonight, got the missus a food processor, not sure how it'll go down but she's mentioned them through out the year so think I'm in the clear, chocies and itunes vouchers.

I'm not that good choosing presents, you've only got to ask Mrs Mooky what I got them for a wedding pressie!!!

Anyway think I'm in the clear Hope she doesn't read this though!!

Cheers

Rich

If I'm honest - she wasn't all that impressed

I thought it was great though

I'm off to do mine tomorrow, taking a secret weapon to make it all easier (my mum!).
Problem areas are sister & girlfriend but the rest is sorted-ish!
