I've just bought a USB memory stick off eBay for my wife to back up a load of old floppy discs. She copied several of them but then the PC said
the USB device is write protected and refuses to write or edit anything on it. When I've tried to read things from it, after a few files,
windows explorer crashes out complaining that the USB device isn't working then immediately re-opens it.
Is there some property of USB memory sticks that I'm missing or have I been sold a duff?
Sounds faulty to me...
Rich
The circuit boards are very prone damage where the USB plug mounts on the board.
These days we use USB adaptors for SD memory cards if the USB bit gets damaged we still have the data.
Sorry to be the first to say....
But have you tried it in another computer?
