02GF74 - 18/12/09 at 07:28 AM

no probs - got landy insured and drove in ok, all but the smallest roads in 2wd - had to have choke out a bit as engine kept cutting out and forgot my works pass so had to do a Uey

David Jenkins - 18/12/09 at 07:44 AM

Working from home - the wonders of the remote desktop... probably get more done here than I would normally do in the office!

mad4x4 - 18/12/09 at 07:46 AM

Roads are icey here but clear -

What Snow >??

02GF74 - 18/12/09 at 07:53 AM

^^^^ Who did that and how? ( adding the extra poll items?)

ah, is there some sort of bug with the poll thing? everytime someone replies, a new item appears with their name?????

hmmm....... this could get quite interesting.

(or maybe not)

r1_pete - 18/12/09 at 08:01 AM

I'm in, played taxi driver for daughter too, who kerbed the car last night and wrecked the suspension arm.

Side roads are like glass round here.

flak monkey - 18/12/09 at 08:01 AM

Looks like it.....

Jasper - 18/12/09 at 08:08 AM

8-10 inchs already, and still snowing hard, I'm not going anywhere today, especially with a RWD BMW

Worzey - 18/12/09 at 08:11 AM

I manged to get to the office without incident.

Bit of congestion around the bathroom at 8am (as per usual) but otherwise no issues.

BTW - I work from home

MikeR - 18/12/09 at 08:13 AM

I'm in - had to deice the car but no problem in the coventry area.

What is reading like - supposed to be heading their tonight.

Mr Whippy - 18/12/09 at 08:18 AM

so like if I add another post it screws up your poll even more? lets see

Mr Whippy - 18/12/09 at 08:19 AM

nope that didn't work

whitestu - 18/12/09 at 08:24 AM

I am but then I work from home. I've just walked up the garden to my office in the garage. Does that count?

Only had an inch or so, the roads are pretty clear but it's starting to ice up again. Cars moving slowly, 30 min bus journey took an hour. Let's hope the sun warms it up - skies are pretty clear but I'm hearing reports of more snow to come.

McLannahan - 18/12/09 at 08:40 AM

I'm at work - not a jot of snow sadly.

My neighbour has a RWD Bimmer and has left it in the middle of the driveway blocking in 8 houses!!!

Unfortunately I was out when she binned it so I had parked outside the yard and could get in to work. :-(

Had some fun last night in a nice deserted carpark (not dogging, just for the record)

Danozeman - 18/12/09 at 09:00 AM

Im not. Just spent an hour and a half sitting on the a14. Thought sod it and managed to turn round and go wrong way down a slip road with everyone else and went home. Fun drive in RWD auto BMW. Tickover all the way. Traction control going absolutley mental.

Making snowmans with me daughter i reckon.

coozer - 18/12/09 at 09:05 AM

I'm in, but thats cause of lack of work, same as most days really.

Going out later to sign on then out again later to sink some beers with the lads.

I'll probably fall over on the ice and spill me kebab

mcerd1 - 18/12/09 at 09:15 AM

Typical, a little bit of snow and all you lot down south are in a panic

as far as I know I'm still going karting outdoors this afternoon

deezee - 18/12/09 at 09:20 AM

Luckily I live in the North of England / North Wales. A place were cars apparently work as normal in winter Unlike the south, were on your driving test your taught to drive into a tree at the first wiff of snow Or if your a HGV driver, your encouraged to jack knife your lorry

splitrivet - 18/12/09 at 09:55 AM

Wot snow, central heatings packed up at home so its warmer outside.

Hah! part timer. I WAS a TAXI DRIVER and I was in it ALL night. Just finished. mid-night till 09:30.

Driving around in it was a piece of cake until about just after 06:00, thats when all the other idiots started coming out, thinking that they could drive in/on it.

Started snowing at about 00:30hrs and then it did not stop until about 08:00. by that time there was between 4 and 6 inches in the area. I don't start panicking until it gets to about a foot deep and then the FUN really starts. The trouble is that we have not had that sort of depth for about 26 plus years round here.

NigeEss - 18/12/09 at 10:07 AM

What snow

Two Landies in the collection and not an iota of the stuff to be seen here.

Bloody southerners getting all the fun again.

coozer - 18/12/09 at 10:20 AM

Can I point out that the Wirral is NOT in the north, its the midlands... To get there I have to travel 150 miles south and thats more than half way to London so your in middle, off to one side a bit... how far does the M6 extend past you??

Merry Xmas!

mcerd1 - 18/12/09 at 10:31 AM

no coozer, Wirral is the south
and your in the middle

your ~90 miles south of me and I'm still not in the north (Mr Whippy is getting close to the real north)

coozer - 18/12/09 at 10:36 AM

England was what I meant.. anyway I'm with ya, its further to Aberdeen than it is to London from here if your counting the whole of the UK...

Liam - 18/12/09 at 10:44 AM

Huh? A RWD barge (vaux omega 3.0) makes it more fun to drive in this kind of weather. Only about an inch here but plenty of ungritted rural roads on the way to work varying from slushy to icy. Great drifty fun

mcerd1 - 18/12/09 at 10:45 AM

and aberdeen is still a 100 miles short of the north

Danozeman - 18/12/09 at 10:53 AM

Hehehe, debating whether to try and get to work again. trouble dont wanna get stuck there.

iscmatt - 18/12/09 at 10:57 AM

I like many others selected 'me' as I had no idea what the heck is going on.

Anyway, update is my Mum, who I run a business with, came and got me from the bottom of my snowed in road, so I'm now at work hopefully not for too long though, and it's back to my new copy of Colin Mcrae Dirt

Confused but excited. - 18/12/09 at 01:12 PM

That's impressive in the cold!

Ben_Copeland - 18/12/09 at 07:40 PM

Broke down on the motorway 5.5 hours sat in traffic in the recovery lorry. 5.30am to 11am.

Someone had built a snow man at the side of the motorway with a massive "member" which lightened the mood.

Also the guy next to us in a Auto Merc sitting in drive with his foot on the brake, not realising that one of his rear wheels was spinning on the ice lol

My names appeared on the poll now too..........
