Listening now - end of an era!

Not a big fan of Mr Evans on drive time, but I used to be an avid listener when he did the Virgin breakfast show, so maybe he'll be OK again in the morning...?

If not I'm going to have to invest in in-car DAB in the sales.

Still listening (09:24) Classic tune....Dolly P, I will always love you (as regularly murdered by Whitney Houston)

Personally I can't stand radio, too many commercials and endless chatting. That’s why I have and I-pod in the car.

stuart_g - 18/12/09 at 11:30 AM

Thank god for that! He doesn't half talk a load of ol drivel and starts to laugh at his own jokes even before he's attempted telling it.

Roll on Chris Evans..

fesycresy - 18/12/09 at 12:21 PM

Moyles is starting to get on my t1ts, so Chris Evans will be a welcome change.

D Beddows - 18/12/09 at 12:24 PM

I'm REALLY going to miss him in the mornings - feels like we've been though a lot together It was never quite the same after Dr Wally died taking his spoke shave with him and there was far too much Billy Joel for my liking ...... but Chuffer Dandridge and his music hall chums almost always made me laugh as did the Janet and John stories (although they had past their best....) Chris Evans, the smug little git, is just going to be far to chirpy for that time in the morning

Why the seriously annoying Sarah Kennedy can't do the decent thing and disappear off into gin soaked obscurity instead is one one of life's great injustices lol

The joy of the BBC- no commericals!

You really can't beat Radio4! The amount of stuff I've learnt from listening to it- science, politics, environmental stuff, even Woman's Hour occasionally has it's good bit and there's some fantastic comedies.

The old favourites:
The News Quiz
I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue
Just a Minute

Newer stuff:
The Now Show
All bar Luke
etc. etc. etc.

Cheers,
James

While we are getting rid of people perhaps we could get rid of Steve Wright his show is like his own Kareoke he sings along with every record!

D Beddows - 18/12/09 at 03:35 PM

oh yeah 100% with you there...... loved his show on Radio 1 in the olden days but his Radio 2 afternoon show hasn't changed AT ALL in what 10 years?? apart from the singing as you say and that's hardly an improvement!

Mr G - 18/12/09 at 03:53 PM

Video killed the radio star.... or at least TVcatchup over HSDPA on a smartphone/iphone of a morning did!

Have you seen Steve Wright recently???

Piled on a few pounds with a serious waddle and double chin effect.
