Where to buy a reasonable quality double mattress
carpmart - 27/12/09 at 10:17 AM

Hi Guys

Sorry this is way OT but in the right section!

I need a new double mattress for my teenage son. I have been a loyal Millbrook customer for my last two mattresses, the last cost me nearly a grand but its fantastic.

I have three hundred for the sons one, what's the best deal anyone has seen?

Thanks!

if the adverts that have constantly been on over Christmas are anything to go by then you are spoilt for choice, Benson Beds are always on, get out on the high street.

Have a look at the memory foam type mattresses, you will get a much better foam mattress at that price than a low quality sprung mattress. You should be able to pick up a top end mattress for £200 ish.

Worth trying your local large independant, or even dreams some reasonable deals on now and again.

got mine and my mum&dad's from mattressman.co.uk or something along those lines.

about £220ish for a silentnight miracoil. had mine 3 and a half years now and it's still brilliant and incredibly comfy.

i personally don't like memory foam. swmbo has one at her house and i don't like it at all.

My wife and I have a half and half matress - memory foam on top and springs.....

I don't like it either. Never get a good nights sleep on it really and it wasn't cheap either. If we could afford to get another I'd not do memory foam again.

could've written that myself, we got a half and half and its dreadful, spent a fortune on it and cant be arsed buying another off the internet without trying it.

Best advice i could give is to go to a shop where you can try them, you will be so pee'd off if you buy a sh!tter off the internet.

I use premier inns when we travel and this is the brand they use
http://www.hypnos.ltd.uk/

At the moment we are planning a new bed and it will be a HYPNOS. We paid more for a crap bensons bed a few years ago that went flat on the corners......
so this time its going to be a good un.

Funny people will pay a fortune for a flashy 50" plasma tv but wont pay for the thing that really makes you happy. Considering how much time we spend sleeping it should be a major factor in your life.

Most look at the colour and the headboards then stick a bit of crappy foam on it.
They then wonder why they have a sore back with aches and pains in the limbs.

Take the wife to premier inns for a weekend then show her the label on the mattress...... must get some comfy pillows
