Hi, we have a couple of bed side lights that are touch operated, and one has given up the gost, the touch part doesnt work. Anyone know if this can be fixed, otherwise I will have to fit a manual switch and wire it direct. Cheers Ray
i had one that packed up. I took it apart but couldn't see what had broken or how to fix it, so in the end I chucked it.
Sorry, not much help.
We had a couple of those - the touch thing annoyed me so I rewired them with conventional in-line switches.
In laws have loads, the electronics seem to go pop when the bulb blows.. Rubbish design!

Ths missus has one of these and to me the 3 stage on switch is backwards. you touch it to turn it on (it's dimmest) then press again and it goes
brighter and again to it's brightest then again to turn it off.
A real pain when you turn it on, start to doze off then want to turn the light off. It's like the bloody spanish inquisition! Is there any way to
reverse the switch setup so it's brightest first down to dimmest before it turns off?
That's why I modified my lights - I just wanted 'on' and 'off'.
Right, that doesn't make me feel that I "may" be able to fix it, so it's got to be wire up with an in line switch, shame, but there you go! Cheers Ray
Have you googled it? there must be some sort of control box in there.
Yep - in mine there was a small plastic box with a few screw terminals and a lead going to the lamp body (that worried me too - it's an unearthed
lamp!).
It was simple to take the box out of the circuit, connect the wires up with a connection block, and fit a switch into the lead - taking care to make a
decently safe job, of course. Cost me a Pound for each lamp. I think.
