This is my finished sledge following on from my previous post. Early test runs prove very positive, just got to wait for my mate to get home and in
the mean time build another plus a kiddie size one and we're ready to rock!!!
LINKY
Looks good, my eldest was just peering over my shoulder & putting some pressure on me to do the same. Be careful with that metalwork on the front
though. It's gonna be sore if you land on it. I went ar*se over t*t on a body body the other day & pulled all my stomach muscles.

that reminds me of the one i had when i was a boy, now moved onto the locost option of just sitting in a heavy plastic fertiliser bag, ok while snow is deep but not comfortable when it turns to ice!!
Nice
Looks good but from experience you'd be better with a curve at the front of the runners rather than an angle.
Made one with my grandad when a kid and my best mate did one with his dad . Both to the same design (they copied ours) except mine had a curve and his
an angle. Mine was a lot faster! His got modified.
Once the snow is packed down it'll run better than the plastic ones.

Yeah I wanted to do a curve but the ali was difficult to bend as it's got a raised profile lengthways - I've just made a mini one for my mates lad and that has UPVC runners which curve nicely, only thing is he's only 3 so it might be a bit too fast for him!!
Furtiliser bag 1/2 full with straw, tied at the top with bale twine. Locost, won't injure anybody, light and very fast.

As long as you stear clear from using landy roofs...
