Come on Mark!!

mistergrumpy - 17/1/10 at 11:47 PM

No no no!! Bit of an attitude that I don't like about him Selby. Not to say O Sullivans not got one but there's summat about arrogance in Selby that I can see.

mistergrumpy - 17/1/10 at 11:50 PM

O Sullivans losing focus I think and the match with it.

Miks15 - 17/1/10 at 11:54 PM

not looking good for ronnie!

must say both have played extremely well though! but like you say ronnie has lost focus!

Although heres a chance

Miks15 - 17/1/10 at 11:57 PM

Get in there Mark. Maybe he has got a bit of arrogance - but most top sportsmen have to a certain extent. Beats being a big baby like Ronnie still - the guy who has spat his dummy out on numerous occasions - just ask Stephen Hendry and the crowd a couple of years or so ago who forked out to see a match only for Ronnie to concede nowhere near the end

Yeah I was supporting Ronnie too but he's just not been able to get back in the game since the interval. He's clearly upset as evidenced by his reactions to John Parrot in the interview. Not a great display of sportsmanship really...

Great match though and well done to Mark, he seems a nice guy and a worthy winner. I'm sure Ronnie will be back!

I watched it all week and there have been some good matches. The table has been a bit tighter than usual so there have been fewer big breaks and one sided matches but it has made for better viewing. Anyone saying Mark Selby is arrogant can not have watched his previous match against Mark Allen where they were both struggling in the first frame and he suggested they flip a coin for it The game was a delight to watch. Ronnie has problems all of his own (or his parents) making, his dad just got out of jail for murdering a Kray gang member when Ronnie was 16.

I watched the game against Mark Allen and I still say he's arrogant. Dunno, maybe it's because of his highlighted position at such a young age but then Mark Allen doesn't have it he seems a genuinely decent lad.
It was Selby's "hard man" cocky stare to the camera on his intro and his "high 5's" to the crowd and going up to the camera and pulling faces when he won plus the fact that when he had clawed a frame back he would try at some trick shot which I fel was aimed towards Ronnie as a "get that up you". They do not have a great past though I believe in their last league game Ronnie wiped the floor with him.
Personally I don't think Selby deserved it, Ronni played better and was consistently to frames ahead but as said came out differently afer the interval so something happened and he should have taken the game with that 18 frame ludicrous miss. The fella has depression and a lot going on in his life. He has said in the past that he will never quit snooker whilst his dad is still inside and now he's out, who knows?
