Awesome, glad you like it
i'm now going to work out how .cue files work... seems like black magic to me

Mr G - 19/1/10 at 09:25 PM

I thought you were going to say you were selling a whole collection of Electro (street sounds) albums on vinyl.. I would of bitten your hand off

Ah the days of ghetto blasters and rolls of lino

Jasper - 19/1/10 at 09:31 PM

Nice one, love a bit of deadmau5 good to get a bit of dance music on here, the rest of em see
to be into various forms of metal! As for me, the wife and I love a bit of banging DnB and psytrance, in fact we're off to goa in 3 weeks

Anyway, i'll get that on the iPod,cheers

woolly - 19/1/10 at 10:08 PM

not turned it of yet.

L5W - 19/1/10 at 11:05 PM

cool, will give that a listen at work tomorrow

I'm liking electronica from the 88 - 92 era at the mo and quite often tune in to http://www.piraterevival.co.uk/ and http://renegaderadio.co.uk/ for some oldskool goodness

blakep82 - 20/1/10 at 11:33 AM

Thanks for all the feedback so far guys very much appreciated!
i've not DJ'd properly for years, and i want to get right back into it this year, since i'm back out a job and got some time to concentrate on it. you've heard what may well be a demo cd for me lol.
going to try and get some more done over the following weeks, so keep your ears peeled lol

now, when i try and put this on the cd, do i make an audio and data cd, or an audio cd? i tried audio, but nero didn't recognise the file. i didn't try data and audio yet.

also, after writing the cue file, in notepad, i clicked save as, selected 'all files' in the file types, and wrote mix.cue as the file name, but it seems to be saving it as mix.cue.txt

Grimsdale - 20/1/10 at 12:39 PM

using nero, you want to find the drop down menu option "burn image" and then load teh cue file.

When saving files in notepad, file|save as
in the file name box, type *.*, press save. the save as box will stay open
then type filename.cue and save again. That should do it.

blakep82 - 20/1/10 at 12:43 PM

^ top man! got the cue file saved properly now. very weird though, although the way i tried was different, i can't see why it wouldn't work, but sorted now thanks!

now, to try and get the cue file on a cd

edit: DONE! i thought i'd have to put both the mp3 and cue file on. i didn't realise nero would read the cue file and get the MP3 itself!

will have more questions about this in the following days i think... also want to put a data section on the cd too, biogs, photos, that kind of thing, so it works on PC and CD players

Nice one Blake - we'll have some more of that please... pleasant change from Last FM and takes me back to my teens where I'd go and spend my pocket money / pay on mix tapes - Halcyon Days!

cd.thomson - 20/1/10 at 01:39 PM

yeah id listen to more too, this one was the exact length of train journey in to work

Grimsdale - 20/1/10 at 05:15 PM

happy to be of service!

Ninehigh - 20/1/10 at 08:30 PM

Ooh cha ooh cha ooh cha ooh cha ooh cha ooh cha ooh cha ooh cha ooh cha ooh cha ooh cha ooh cha ooh cha ooh cha! Uh, uh uh, uh uh, uh uh, uh ooh cha ooh cha (repeat forever)

Not overly keen on it myself, though probably more due to when I get to hear it (approaching Nova, crappy town centre full of idiots)

Then again Pendulum's pretty cool so it's not all bad

ah, you see them lot all listen to crappy cheap hardcore, with silly squeaky high pitch vocals and no bass lines. i like more 'grown up' well produced dance music

Ninehigh - 24/1/10 at 07:54 AM

I do appreciate the whole mixing thing that DJs do live, you know fading in one track after another. I've seen people starting out doing it and it's pretty hard

I shall have to download that mix up there and stick it on cd for when I'm next in the car see what it's like
