Custom worktops... Anyone here do them ?

Hi all,

Rather give the business to a fellow Locoster

I'm after some special worktops to be made with a built in upstand about 200mm tall.
Must be part of the laminate and not bonded on. And to complicate matters needs precut
mitre joints at 45 deg.

So as this is the fountain of all knowledge (almost) and services I await with baited breath

Don't do them myself but I used to work for a shopfitters in Southport who have an amazing reputation for woodwork/countertops/laminating so they might be worth a call - google Mentha & Halsall ... I'd say mention my name but it's been a few years

What you're asking is quite tricky with traditional laminate - if you want a granite type finish Corrian is perhaps something to consider because you can mould that to any shape you want OR when I worked at M&H we were given a demonstration by a company (who's name I forget sadly) who sold a heavy duty plastic alternative to laminate that you could 'laminate' any shape you wanted to with - the party trick of the demonstration was 'laminating' a football - which was actually very impressive in a sad geeky sort of way
