... and now, the next generation, Music DNA

eh? is it just me, or does that story actually not tell you anything?
i can't work out what this 'new format' is. i did read it very quickly though

CDs are fine tbh. MusicDNA, GPS in cars, eBooks, iphones and 'apps' can all jump off a cliff.

It's a self-updating format that'll give you loads of useless info, when you've got your song playing on your portable music device it'll show pics of the band, lyrics, biography, anything. Just another pointless product to sell to the "want it now" generation

It sounds like it's what MKV files are to video ie. same files just a different "package" which allows for a video file, subtitles, different types of sound file etc. all to be packaged together in a single file.

Not exactly ground breaking....

It's another way for marketers to latch onto you. If somebody would come and change the record every 20 minutes or so, vinyl is best. Now, as I age, sending mp3's to the stereo from the laptop will do... Fortunately, you can still find Mott the Hoople music on mp3 off Soulseek.
