Resteraunt recommendation somewhere en route between Norwich and Cambridge
carpmart - 29/1/10 at 04:52 PM

Guys

I'm traveling tomorrow and need a venue to stop at for sustenance!

Can anyone recommend me somewhere to enjoy a meal not too far off the A11 route between Cambridge and Norwich.

I'm not after 3 Michelin stars, nor am I after a Hungry Beefeater type of place, just somewhere with decent food served all day and a nice ambiance!

Thanks in advance to you all.

"The World Famous Comfort Cafe"

Off the Four Went Ways roundabout, A11, just east of Cambridge. Proper Cafe.

It's just next to a Little Chef. The LC will be full, the WFCC will be half empty. WHY I don't know.

the Red lodge transport cafe use to be the clasic place to stop between Norwich and Cambridge, might not be quite what you are after, if you take a detour of the A14/A11 and go through Newmarket high street there are some nice looking places, as for only place i have eaten recently is the stag (breckland lodge) in Attlebrough about 10miles from Norwich or my local queens head in Hethersett 5 miles from Norwich.

The Breckland Lodge, on the A 11, 4miles north of Snetterton. A great pub with proper food, and the best carvery ever!!

Don't know if it's really on the way, but round there somewhere... one of the Heston Blumenthal re-branded Little Chefs is around Kettering somewhere. They're supposed to be pretty decent - the first one got in the good food guide! Been meaning to try one myself.

Can recommend a good pub that does great food just off the A11 . The Chequers at Pampisford . It's just off the A505 a mile or so from it's junction with the A11 going towards Duxford
