I am F***ed
l0rd - 31/1/10 at 06:05 PM

Right, My mother in law is really Ill. My wife went back to Greece to be with her so quited her job.

And i am left here on my own.

I need to give notice to my landlord, find a new place close to work and move everything by my self by the end of this month.

PS: My colleague just left for 3 weeks of holidays and I also have to cover his workload until he gets back.

owelly - 31/1/10 at 06:07 PM

Good luck with it all matey.

BenB - 31/1/10 at 06:09 PM

End of the month as in by the 1st of Feb or 1st March? Surely not by tommorow?

Good luck all the same!

Andybarbet - 31/1/10 at 06:09 PM

Wow ! I thought i had a lot on.

Maybe some local locosters could do some sort of Locost removal help/service for you ?

Good luck

UncleFista - 31/1/10 at 06:10 PM

Bad news mate, just look an the brightside and think that it'll all be over in a month. I have to say though, 3 weeks holiday with only you covering sounds like someone's taking a liberty

My missus has gone in hospital for at least 2 weeks until the baby's born (caesarian) and left me with the2 kids !
I also sold my car a couple of days ago and need to buy another.

Things never seem to happen one at a time do they ?

Thanks owelly.

Atm, i am in a really bad mood. Slept 3 hours last night and then drove the wife to the airport. Drove 290miles to get to Gatwick and back, didn't manage to get any rest throughout the day and i feel knackered.

scootz - 31/1/10 at 06:11 PM

Bluemoon - 31/1/10 at 06:15 PM

I have already started buying things to aid me with the removal. Just got a tape dispencer, and in and hour, i will buy a sack trolley. At least, now, all the engineering works have finished around the block of flats. When i moved in, i had to carry everything from the back side of the building where the van was parked.

No they don't. If you consider that i just got the insurance on my car and now I have to change it which will another 25 quid for fees and god knows how much more they will charge me for the new area.

Thank you for the offer.

But. My colleague comes back in 3 weeks and i have to move in 4. Since i will cover for him, guess who will pay for it.

ashg - 31/1/10 at 06:40 PM

i say sell up, pack up and move to Greece. they are car mad out there so you could start building again straight away

gottabedone - 31/1/10 at 06:42 PM

Thats going to be a mental few weeks. If you haven't already bought it, get one of the sack trucks with the three wheels each sides - they go up stairs etc and save a lot of back ache!

good luck

ashg

Don't get me started with this.

I cannot register a Hand Built Car. Otherwise, i would do it here as parts are a lot cheaper.

I was going to make mine based on a MK1 Mx5.

I found a MKII MX5 in Greece. In good working order.

For sale at only 17K

How much is it here? 3-4K?

I am buying a flat bed style one and hope to live somewhere where there is an elevator or ground floor.

motorcycle_mayhem - 31/1/10 at 07:07 PM

Be positive, it could be a lot worse, you could also have lost your job.

Yes, it can always be a lot worse.

It's just too many things happend in a short period of time.

russbost - 31/1/10 at 08:19 PM

Sorry to hear of your probs, hope you get it sorted - nice to see that as ever the forum has offered assistance ...............

Would recommend try to get hold of landlord asap - the more notice you give him the less aggro he's likely to cause you.

ditto.

l0rd - 31/1/10 at 09:25 PM

I would like to thank everybody for offering to help with my removal.

I have just made the first step and called my landlord to explain the reason for moving out and was fine with it.

Just send him an email too to make it formal.

Back to packing.

Ninehigh - 5/2/10 at 10:23 PM

Where's Gloucester?

Think of it this way. Batchelor pad, Playstation/Xbox/whatever and mates who can come round for a beer and no hassle off the missus.

You know if I could afford it I'd have one of them

Well it's one bright side to look at

designer - 5/2/10 at 10:29 PM

Yes, go to Greece. They really are barmy!!

I saw a bloke there once who pushed his plane out of his drive and took off using the road as a runway!!!
