Hi All what is the best locost cctv and how do you make it
Some Bast--- has been trying to get in my garage but the alarm put them off
I think i saw a post the other day about cctv cameras but can't find the link Help please find it

Cant really advise. But make sure its high enough res and can cope without low light conditions etc else you will get footage thats not useful.
There must be some nice hdd based recorders out there you could use. Or even an old pc?

Ive used a DIY CCTV Camera with night vision (£80) a PC and recording software (£30). Captures on motion, and it will even text or email me the footage.
Maplins have some in their sale, maybe worth a look.

You could use a Web cam and and old PC.
You should be able to find some cheap/free capture software.
You can also use a MD80 video camera as a web camera,then later use it as a cheap digital (on car) video camera.
Not check it's low light function yet.

what do you want it for? giving to the police as evidence or ????
I'm asking as i thought i read on here that systems the police can use in the courts have to have certain features like stamping each frame to
prove its not been tampered with.

Police evidence does indeed need to be time stamped and continuous.
Best bet would be to just fit a big obvious empty housing/dead camera in plain view.
Having been in the CCTV business and having provided footage for evidence it's rare it's useful. All you need is a hood/cap and the CCTV is
useless at night.
The only times I’ve seen it being useful are in well-lit shops and the like, or mega expensive circa £3000 cameras (before housings and fitting).
It'd be handy to see what they steal though.

Have a look at CPC,; they do quite a lot of CCTV stuff. Click here for CPC, once you get in there they have a
special offers section which should have something to suit your needs.

There is a local nutter with a 300bhp 2.2L Honda K series engine in his Striker, and he's just bought a supercharger for it.
It's insane really, far too much power for such a tiny and light car.

Give them a ring we've found some of there equipmnt is outperforming some very expensive kit.
Also a very helpful company,mail order and they also can provide plug and play wiring.
