COPS HIT FOR £2.5M May 1 2004

A TRUCKER has won £2.5million from traffic cops who harassed him for five years.

Steve Grassilli, 44, was repeatedly stopped, handed more than 30 tickets and had his lorry towed.

A San Diego jury found California Highway Patrolmen Richard Barr and Michael Toth guilty of 'malicious, wanton or oppressive behaviour'.

Their campaign had begun after Grassilli complained about a ticket Barr gave a pal.
