Hi all i was doing a small job today welding a seat frame and found a magnet attached to some parts of the frame and not to other parts.
All the bits welded ok as normal + some where already welded by the seat manufacturers
What type of steel / metal is it ?
Monkey metal ? poo ?

austanitic stainless steel (the most common one)

Some stainless steels with a high manganese content are non-magnetic
