You should have gone to Brooklands motor museum last year, they had a military lynx helicopter that would have wiped the floor with that....
Barrel rolls, back flips, front flips and hovered pointing directly at the ground, all this 300ft high above us, amazing
I've seen the lynx display too. Scared the crap out of me
When I worked at westland helipcopters in the 80's we attended several lectures on the Lynx. As previously said it wiped the floor with all competitors mainly due to the rotor head. Although it did have the odd crash during development.
Thats a Bolkow 105D. One tuff little helecopter.
Not many helecopters can do those sorts of loops and rolls as they need a fixed rotor head to be able to do that.
I used to fly (passenger) in one of those a lot when I was in the Lighthouse Service.
They used them for more than 20 years and are only just changing them this year for the type the Police use.
Not really relevant, just brought back memories.
