How do they do this?
tegwin - 29/3/10 at 12:43 PM

I am trying to decide what flooring to put in my sisters camper.. I need something hard wearing because she makes such a god awful mess!!

I really like this:

But how on earth they fit the plastic floor like that around the corners etc?

That system would be ideal.. take the flooring a few feet above the floor...

Failing that... anyone have any other ideas?

Looks like the comerical flooring you see in bathrooms/hotels ect some one posted a link to this on the site in the last couple of weeks...

we use it in our kitchens and bathrooms in the nursing homes.

if you leave a 90mm gap between all round the room (boot) at the edges, making sure that your cuts are completely straight, you then apply a "form" to the floor/wall joints that is very similar to coving for your ceiling but with very tapered edges. you then lay the covering, starting at the cut edge of your flooring, on to thr forms and up the walls. leaving an almost undectable join. however, we have found that if you leave a deliberate 3mm gap at the join and fill with an appropriate coloured silicone you get a better water tight finish (but this could be our poor fitting skill.

if my description has left you more confused then when i started, send me a u2u and i'll dig out the instructions and scan and send.

I'm doing a bathroom refit in the next week or so so if you can hang on till then, i'll post the photos to show the process. if you give me the dimentions if the area in question, i'll try to keep the required materials "spare" and send them down to you. but this can be done quite well with a decent lino and time bond contact adhesive.

That looks like `Linex' - where I work has recently taken on the local franchise , and bought a lovely big new spraybooth .
It's a two-part spray plastic that can be applied to most hard surfaces with very little preparation , other than filling gaps and just taking the shine off any paint .
