arrow-engineering - 12/4/10 at 07:48 PM

hi there, i payed for some stuff via paypal that carlknight said he had, this was 17 march, after loads of emails to him ive got no parcel and no replies, i checked last time he was online and it was 9th april so he must have seen my emails.

now, here is the suspicious bit. he asked me to send the money as a gift. now i go into paypal and try to open a dispute for unsent item i cant do it as the transaction was not for goods or services.

have i been conned or what!!!

just a heads up to anyone who might deal with him in future, be careful, im 30 quid lighter and nowhere to go.

sending as a gift is just a way to avoid paying the fees for receiving money,

have you sent him a u2u ??, if you check in your sent items, it will say if its been read or not

The gift bit is so he doesnt get charged the paypal fees.

i bought some rear wheel arches from him a few weeks ago, he even offered to deliver.

I paid via paypal and he turned up on my doorstep a week later. So no problems for me with him

he's known by several people on the forum so i would hold out hope.

Yeah Hold out hope. As for the personal payment. I tend to ask if people can send me money that way just to avoid fees but i believe it does have the drawback of not being able to go through paypal.

i sent messages on 26/03, 28/03, 02/04 and 08/04, all have been read. im not bothered if he doesnt reply, but no reply AND no parcel makes me worry, nearly a month now.

i know sending as a gift is a good way to avoid fees, thats why i was willing to do it, no-one likes the fees.

he could at least say hes not posted it yet, been busy etc.

I had a rocker cover off him a few weeks ago - slight issue with the address he used on the parcel but it arrived OK. I don't think there should be any problem, but..................

He's not read your U2U from 8th April.

I have a phone number and address for him if worst comes to worst, altho I'd have to have a quick word with my solicitor re: data protection before I give it out. You may need a crime number. This site should be a safe and trusted place to trade, but at the same time I must respect all users privacy.

arrow-engineering - 14/4/10 at 08:01 PM

he was on here today - 14/4, still not read my mail, still not replied, still no goods, but happily still looking round the forum while he spends my money, im starting to lose my rag.

i have had contact with mr knight, he finally replied to my email regarding the missing parcel, said he would chase is up and get back to me the next day, i heard nothing, left it a couple more days and i asked again, he said it looked like its gone missing, so do i want to wait 14 days for investigation or have a refund. i asked for refund obviously, STILL NO REFUND!!!

I very much doubt you'd be allowed to give his number out without his permission, however if Mr Arrow agrees you can pass that number on with a "Call him about this parcel" message
