I've been scammed
mookaloid - 5/5/10 at 07:42 PM

I bought a buy it now DVD from ebay - not badly priced at £4.99 with 99p postage I thought.

3 days later it arrives - brand new and direct from Amazon - DOH!!!

So I check Amazon and find I could have bought it for £3.99 including postage AAARRRRG!!!!!

I have to admire the audacity of the seller though - even though the note was signed 'your smurf' which I think may be a derogatory urban slang term of some sort.

Still I've learned my lesson and will check prices more thoroughly in future.

lol, quite ingenious

could have been worse. all you have lost is the cost of a drink.

just out of interest, what DVD was it?

I suspect in this case it translates roughly to "you're a c*ck"

liam.mccaffrey - 5/5/10 at 08:04 PM

make sure you wait until after all the credits roll when you go see iron man 2

mookaloid - 5/5/10 at 08:08 PM

thanks for the tip.

I've been looking at the guys feedback - he seems to be doing 5-10 of these per day and everyone leaves him glowing feedback

Maybe they are all too embarrassed to admit they could have got it cheaper from amazon

MikeRJ - 5/5/10 at 08:17 PM

There is absolutely loads of stuff on ebay that can be had cheaper elsewhere, but I'm sure thousands of people do the same as you and just buy it without checking (or maybe even caring). I would be a bit annoyed, but at the end of the day it's only a quid.

Marcus - 5/5/10 at 08:21 PM

I watched Iron Man last night....it was ok.....not great by any means. Was dissapointed really after all the hype.

Nothing wrong with what hes doing in my opinion, its entirely your own fault for not shopping around - plus hes hardly charging any extra!

omega 24 v6 - 5/5/10 at 09:49 PM

Shaft him with paypal then if you feel like you've been had. Or accept it and leave feedback telling everyone to beware.

I agree. In fact, I you've got me thinking about how to write a system to list items automatically.

Chris

eddie99 - 5/5/10 at 10:11 PM

Yeah hes not doing anything wrong. Serves you right for thinking ebay is always cheapest

Rod Ends - 5/5/10 at 10:18 PM

Tell Amazon about him - you might get refund.

Irony - 5/5/10 at 10:20 PM

Ingenious idea.

I thought Iron Man 2 was a bit of a sad affair. It just seemed to go on for ages without much happening and I was hugely disapointed to only hear 2 AC/DC songs when they apparently 'did the soundtrack'.

Not a patch on the first.

dhutch - 5/5/10 at 11:17 PM

That awesome.

Apparently the bloke selling megajolts for £250 does about the same.
