OT: Ants

Got a couple of ants nests in my lawn. They keep pushing up the soil. Tried last year to get rid of them with boiling water and fairy liquid. Worked for a little while but they are back again this year.

Whats the best way of getting rid of them? Can i use that powder stuff? Will that kill the grass?

Best stuff I've used comes as a small tube of sticky liquid. The workers take it down and feed it to the queen not knowing it's a delayed action poison. Easy enough to get.

diesel, good for rat holes too. don't even have to light it.

We used the stuff like glue that Ian used, it takes 10 days to work but it did the job. I also read that you can put down Semolina which the workers take back to the queen and it causes her to burst as she is unable to digest it.
