Is it just me or is anyone else finding it frustratingly slow to use due to the amount of adverts on the site...?

StevieB - 30/5/10 at 04:01 PM

Really frustrating.

I've taken the online survey a number of times in the hope that they'll eventually realise that they've spent a lot of money fixing something that wasn't really broken in the first place.

Yeah I've been doing that too since they swapped it (a few years back was it?)

Seems to be falling on deaf ears

The most irritating thing is when people advertise cars for 50 or 75 quid only to find that's monthly payments and not the price

morcus - 30/5/10 at 10:18 PM

Thats what I really hate about the site. You get tons of adds where the price is a deposit price or a monthly payment price, or price to rent, then theres the ones that come up for a £1 and its a wanted add (How many people will look up the car they're selling). Then theres loads where they miss off the last digit and put in the Acticle £2,500 NOT £25!!! like that, if thats the price enter it propperly in the first place. When my first car died and my second car was still being built I had so much trouble with that kind of thing that I didn;t bother (Its not easy to find a Cheap Automatic thats insurable).

Its missing the shouty capitals and exclamation marks but here is the first example I found on a quick search, it does also have the typical BS at the bottom that makes out anyone who finds the car advertised for £400 is a knob for asking about it, I might just contact them and offer the £350 just to see what they say.

Mentions the price 3 times in the blurb, 3900, 3900 and 390..

Also no time wasters huh? what about yourself pal I was looking for a car under 500 quid d**khead!

You know I'm sure there's a law about the advertised price

richardh - 31/5/10 at 07:15 AM

yeah, its a really badly run site now.
Slow to load, too many adverts, getting too expensive and too many time wasters.

morcus - 31/5/10 at 06:03 PM

I emailed autotrader about that one and emailed him asking if he'd give me the car and deliver it for £450, he's yet to reply. He's lucky I'm not in the mood to phone him and ask stupid questions.

Why do people put all that BS about no time wasters any way? It just makes me think the seller is a Knob, noone selling anything wants people to waste there time so why say it?

dinosaurjuice - 31/5/10 at 06:33 PM

its all down to them taking on a contestant from 'the apprentice'.

Agreed... they've gone backwards! Site is very user-UNfriendly now!

Re. pet hates... I rage about those who list their mileage as 10% of the odometer reading. You know - you search for cars at less than 5k miles and you first have to sift through all the chancers with their 75 and 100 mile cars... open the ad and it's 75,000 and 100,000.

That Honda seems to have dissapeared so perhaps complaining worked.

It seems autotrader is listening. If you find anything dodgy tell them and they'll sort it.

P.s. I removed my name, They didn't send me a message to dear Mr.

I did it the other way round, I phoned the people advertising a Citroen DS for £75. When they finally explained it was a wanted ad I asked them why the f**k would they put it in a "for sale" section you stupid ....
