a week in the sun

im looking for somewhere to take the wife and 16 month old son for a beach holiday, a week, in july. The main element being somewhere suitable for the lad. Thinking france or spain, and flying because its a 5 hour drive to dover and the hull ferries are overnight so expensive.

Any ideas?

What's the budget? If keeping costs down then somewhere like Arcachon is good, fly to Bordeaux and rent a car, we stayed in statics behind the dune (pyla camping). Main downside there is that the swimming isn't great because of strong currents but there's lots of gliders and kites on the dune as it's a huge area.

Google dune du pyla

currently sitting in a fantastic villa just outside of Buger in Mallorca!! Not cheap but worth it when compared to the money spent on poo holes in a rainy Gower coat or cornish cottage!!

we are so impressed with the Villa i think we will rebook for next year when we get home, give them a try

500 would be good but probably not going to find somewhere nice for that. Maybe a grand!

Look on www.ownersdirect.com if you prefer a villa or apartment.

In the past I've arrange wor own hollys...

Basically find a place you'd like to rent, HERE

Then book locost flights.

We looked for places with direct locost flights, good transport/close to airports etc.

Flew to Malaga with Jet2, nice apartment with sky tv, 2 weeks in Fuengirola in August couple years ago cost us £200 each.

My place in SW France is up for grabs much cheapness, but its not beach and is a fair drive.
Cheers,
