I'm not even gonna comment:

Probably best not to comment as I don't want to start another debate!!!!!!! hehe
wow face to face video calling, thats something new, and certainly hasn't been around for about 6 years now...
what other standard (on other phones) features doesn't it have
face to face calling. Now that sounds a terrible idea. What about when you call the missus from the pub?????? It'll be "I thought you were
working late" or "who's that next to you"
That is the advantage of the phone, it allows you to hide.
As to Videos, I own a TV.........
OK, call me old fashioned, but I do get fed up with people out and about constantly fiddling with their toys phones, when I was out on the seafront
t'other day about half the people will have sunburnt necks and a white face
I'll be getting one because my 3G is knackered; the screen, battery life, multitasking and the 5mp camera make it a worthwhile upgrade imho.
Yep, i like it. Will be getting one as my 3g has run out of contract. Bigger battery, 5m camera. Looks cool, good little gadget and you can multitask
You say that video calling has been in for what 6 years. But it hasn't seriously taken off. I reckon a phone like the iphone gets it, and it will
take off.
mmm... that looks utterly crap from a feature point of view!
The HTC Evo 4G looks much much better from a feature point of view!
Looks great but probably to expensive for me to have rattling around in my grubby pocket! Iphone makes things like video calling and internet worth using. My nokia make your eyes go funny...

HTC desire here - awesome phone!
Problem with iphones is they are like 3 series BMW's and every ***t has one - whereas the HTC is the classier and cooler alternative.
All IMHO of course
Cheers

If it had Flash I'd be tempted but the embargo of Flash by Apple just sucks..... so I'll be going with something else when I upgrade.
Apple have never done anything revolutionary, they just do the same old thing as other people slightly better (usually).
Still don't get the Ifad though. Too small for the pocket, none of the functionality of a laptop. And no flash for viewing the web......
^ true. all the 'amazing new features' of the previous iphones have been stuff other phones have done for years.
recording video was new last year i think
bluetooth about as long. nah, load of hype for nothing spectacular

You should all try the new HTC phones - far better than the Iphone - less flash and more substance.
I have a HD2 and the screen alone puts the Iphone to major shame. The set up on first start took all of 5 mins to set up email, text, facebook and
twitter accounts.
My 2 year old HTC had video calling and 2 cameras (front and rear) which worked well as long as the 3g signal was good.

You're right about the ease of setup - I have a Google G1 (a.k.a. HTC Dream) and it took me about 30 seconds to set it up to monitor my email
account (I didn't want to use Google Mail - I have some standards, you know!). I thought I'd done something wrong as it felt too easy...
iPhone's are good, but not good enough to justify the high cost, IMHO.

Gents,
Take a look at the new Android phones....they're starting to be impressive and stable....and includes all the non-standard bells the iPhone
introduced (e.g. electronic Compass)
Having had a play, it's definitely at least on a par with the iPhone...

Yes, but the iPhone just does it SO much better. I've had at least four 'N' Series Nokias, all with email functionality on them, but I never used it becuase it was such a pain to set up. Used it immediately on the iPhone. And it's the apps that really make it....
You know you're getting old when all you do on the phone is make phone calls and you regard the latest must have wannabees as programmed lemmings manipulated into thinking they are saddos if they don't have the latest upgrade. All this does is make the manufacturers cackle with laughter as they count their profits. The world does not end if you are ever more than 30 meters from your mobile phone. I even leave the house without mine or switch it off.

Its HTC for me. Had the magic for over a year. No problems and survived several major falls, being sat on, in pocket when carrying landscape materials
etc.
There are sufficient applications (sorry cant use the word app) to make the phone very useful.
Thats IMHO
