My daughter finished up with an Orange £20 top up card she doesn't need & has advertised it on ebay twice, both times it's been bought
almost straight away & both times it's turned out, fortunately b4 she's sent them anything that the purchase is from a stolen
account.
I suggested putting it on saying she'll only post the card out, won't email or text the no. so it has to be sent to a genuine address &
surprise surprise she's had several requests to buy the card, but asking for the no. to be sent electronically - so what's the scam, is it
that easy to steal a Paypal a/c or am I missing something here?
I think the scam here is under the rule of "If it smells fishy, it's fishy"
Probably they will claim they haven't recieved the goods and claim a refund.
If you post it out recorded then you would have proof of delivery and so they can't get away with a refund?
It's trivial to start up a paypal account with a stolen credit card number. Guess who loses when it gets spotted - the cc company, paypal or all the people who've sold them stuff.
yes its easy to hack a paypal account especially due to over 10% of home pcs having some sort of spyware or malware.
so they will just look for postal codes.
best option is sell and post out to the registered address only.
also turn off sell to users abroad in selling options and turn off no buyers with feedback under 5
that will sort some of the issues. and if your only willing to post out then you will stop alot of idiots.

Its a top up, so they'll ask for the number via email, use that to put the credit on their phone, then claim they haven't received the card,
for a refund.
No need for fake paypal accounts, and we all know paypal nearly always favour the buyer, so they get £20 top up for nothing, and your daughter gets
ebay's fees.
just sell it here instead
