my O/H wants us to go for a holiday in October,preferably around the med,warm,cheap,quiet,no screaming drunken British kids,beach,self catering and some historical content.

Id recommend cartagena.

Have a look at Mallorca, and stay in Palma (NOT Palma-Nova!!!)

I am more than happy to tell you (a lot) of stuff to do and enjoy, from great places to eat to historic sights!

I worked in Mallorca as a Hol Rep, but also had my Honeymoon there and stayed in Palma...

Kefalonia in the greek islands. No yobs or discos.
We used Oneria holidays. Very good price and efficient.

Goto kemer in Turkey, Look for Pashes Princess. quite a few ruskies but weather should still be warm.

For me it's one of two places

1) Croatia. Mjlet or Korcula. Both beautiful

2) Another vote for Kefalonia. Fiscardo or Assos. Amazing.
