Has anyone else moved house so that you can build a locost? i'm in the middle of selling a terrace house in london and buying a detached house with garage in the midlands.a big part of the reason i'm doing this is so i can hopefully build a locost before i reach 40

Ned's just moved to house with space to build a garage.

Yep been there

I had no garage and no space for one either,i was renting a lockup with no power so a move was inevitable.

As luck would have it i managed to talk mrs bob round to the idea of moving, local schools of which i attended as a child were pants so a move to a better school area was easier to sell than i want a garage for my car

All the hasle of moving and a 3K bill for a garage was worth it though

A major factor in our house purchase was the monster garage down the side!
Done the welding in the rain under a tarp bit as a teenager - must have effected me!

You only live once (I think, anyway)

Try moving continents! Killed one project and sold the other......been there done that. The other problem with moving is all the extra jobs SWMBO requests to be done as if thier life depended on it!!! Garage and large yard with lots of forestry track nearby top of list.

That's the excuse my wife gives when people ask why our house is for sale. It has nothing at all to do with 4 floods in the last 9 months. HA HA. But hey if it gets me a better garage so I can build my car I'm all for it.
