Bloody hell, got woken up at 6am this morning here in Kyoto by two sizeble jolts, scared the crap out of me, had my shorts and shoes on and was ready to run .... thats one really strange sensation.

Apparently here its quite normal, glad I live in good old safe and reliable Blighty

ooh! not cool.
had a very very small one in greenock about 25 years ago, so its not that reliable here!

Out of interest, where were you intending to run to?

We had one here about a month ago.
Dishes started to rattle, house got a small sway going, no damage. We haven't had one in about 10 years. Epicentre 250 miles away.

No earthquakes here in Manila, but arrived Tue last week and that night I experienced my first Typhoon! That was entertaining

And we moan about weather in the UK!

We had one in Manchester a few years back. The epicentre was only a couple of miles from the office. It was a weird and unsettling experience watching filing cabinets, partitions and even office doorframes moving and that was weak compared to what Japan gets.

Experienced a few in various Greek islands, the first few were a bit scary

So much for no earthquakes in the Phillipines....

Left there 1:15 am today (Sat) and apparently they had an earthquake yesterday to the south! Didn't feel it in Manila.

Typhoon when I got there, earthquake when I left. I'm starting to feel like a Vex! lol!

Getting worried, I'm going back next week for 9 days....not sure I want to now

Been in Japan about 12 days now and felt two lots of shakes, and your right, running would be a bit of a waste of time, the second one was here in Tokyo and I was 13 floors up, so a total waste of time running as its a really built up area.

I really don`t know how people live in places like this with regular shakes and the inevitability of a big one at some point in the future. It`s not for me, and it`s seriously hot and humid here at the moment and no beach or pool to cool off. Its been great here, completely different to anywhere else Ive been, but I`ll be glad to get home to the wife and dogs on Monday.

Still, business has been good and we`ll be back next year for sure. Went out for Italian tonite, there is only so much raw fish and rich and noodles a man can stand.

Mind you, the women here are totally stunning - and they all where 6 inch hooker shoes
