i need to replace the oil in my compressor but i don't know what oil to use? its only a 25 litre tiny thing, can i just use some engine oil?
what compressor is it?
i can't remember, but when i got my compressor from machine mart, i think the guy gave me a clarke brand engine oil to use
its meant to be sae40 i have a litre for my compessor it got compressor oil written on it i got it from machine mart
I'm not 100% on this but I think compresor oil is special so as not to knacker seals in tools or rot hoses.
Mine uses 30 grade. It has no detergent additives like engine oil as there is no combustion taking place. Our local hire shop has it for about £4 a litre and it doesn't use a whole litre for mine.
Are you near a screwfix? They sell it.....
How much do you need? I've a 5L bottle, my machine only takes half a litre so can spare you some for the postage.....
just put new oil in and the bloody thing has seized up! taken it apart and the big end of the conrod has seized!
im now in the market for a new compreesoor motor or even better a larger compressor!
any know of anyone who is looking to sell?
