Hotel & parking at Heathrow?
David Jenkins - 18/8/10 at 09:30 PM

We're off to Australia for a few weeks in the near future, and I was thinking about stopping the night before we fly in one of those airport hotels where you get 1 night's fairly expensive bed & brekkie, 3 weeks free parking and transport to & from the terminal.

Has anyone else done that recently? If so, any recommendations?

A friend did that earlier this year. They just did a google search to find it.

Did it recently. Again googled it. One of the websites does a "pot luck special" where you don't specify a set hotel, but pay less - we did that & got one of the Holiday Inns just off M4 - it's where we would have chosen anyway! _ know several people that have done the same & never got a duff hotel/position, you just pay less for the privelige! Proper Locost!

Hmm - did a google, found a number of sites all offering "the best deal"... all using the same website software with different logos & colours, with the same hotels in the same order, and with the same prices! So much for competition...

Quite a scope for excessive add-on charges too - I want to leave my car for about 20 days, so even the cheaper hotels want more money, at between £10 and £15 per day (mostly working out at an extra £75 or so on top of the quoted price). Then there's breakfast, at £15 - £20 per person. I haven't even looked at the cost of an evening meal the night before!

Try the hilton - 1 night's stay comes with 14 nights parking if you choose the right package...

Last time I was going for 7 days (And didn't want a hotel), I found it was as cheap to put the car in for a full valet which included parking as it was to put it in for parking only....
