Good news, bad news, dunno ?
Jon Ison - 3/9/10 at 01:56 PM

Over 18 months ago we spotted a property we like local so put out place up for sale, a cash buyer moved quick we didn't get it but left our house for sale otherwise we have to pay estate agents some wonga.

Time as moved on, Ive finished work and work full time with Mrs at our own business which could be easily located.

We both fancy something in Lincolnshire, me not far from Cadwell, she a bit more land for horses plus prices are good.

Random phone call yesterday someone wants to view, they view make us an offer not far off asking price, we decline but they come back with we are cash buyers and another offer even closer.

What to do, came out of the blue, guess its something we have to decide ?

The offer would see us mortgage free in a much larger property with more land and able at the right property to locate our business at home ?

No brainer I guess. Cadwell anyone ?

yep - get down the estage agents and start hunting instead of posting on here!!

I believe there is a slump in the market so there are gains if you are upsizing.

can't comment about the area other than they make nice sausages there.

I spent a week near Louth recently and the whole Linc Wolds area is really very nice! Trouble is that its an hour minimum to any decent roads (A1) so your pretty isolated!

Sounds good to me as long as the prices of property where you want to move are as good as you think. Only downside I see is the timescale. Would you have to find temp' accomodation while you find somewhere new? Would you have to put the business on hold while you did so?

no brainer to me. I reckon the A1 would be a better transport link for the business than the M1.

E.g. notts to luton took me 1:40 but coming back took 3 bloomin hours wtf!!

We've just come back from Lincolnshire and there are a lot of deep ditches, best leave the car here Jon.

It's great here!!! Come on over. Lots of lovely winding roads in the wolds plus some great driving A and B roads.

The road between Revesby and Horncastle is AWESOME!!!!

I'm biased (born here, always lived here) but the crime is low. Lots of nice quiet villages, nice people, great pubs and CADWELL!!!

EDIT: steer clear of boston.... traffic is a joke (plus other problems). Apart from that Lincs Rocks!!

Even if you have to rent for a few months while your waiting it wouldn't be to bad, and you might earn some intrest on whats left after you've paid the mortgage.

Jethro and Des O'Connor said there were lots of deep dykes - so be doubly careful!

i love lincolnshire. so nice to live out here.

i grew up in leeds and lived in busy areas of leeds till 2 years ago and now live out in north lincs.

alot of driving to leeds everyday. but well worth it to be in middle of no where and having 2 airports close by which close on a sunday and can be used for "testing" the kit cars lol
