"Someone" broke the oven recently while I was trying to clean it. I've pulled the seal from the inside and the small metal hooks that
fit in the seal no longer stay in the seal - fastening it on to the oven itself.
I stuck the clips back into the split rubber seal with Araldite. Worked a treat for two days....Glue came off and split further allowing the clips to
fall out again!
The cooker manufacturer want £50 for the new seal and I can't afford it!
So....What sort of repair could I fashion that...
A - Actually works
B - Is cheap
C - Isn't too difficult to do!
Any ideas please people?
Super glue works very well on silicone rubber as long as it's completely clean and grease free.
Silicon sealant as used on exhausts - should me more than up to the job of holding heat into an oven..
Thanks chaps!
Rubber maybe beyond another repair but it's well worth a try! I thought Araldite - Glue of the Gods would be up to the job. How wrong I was!
Could I use a bead of exhaust silicon instead of the seal? Would it still remain "bouncy"?

Ma-in outlaw did exactly the same last week ....
Hers is a Baumatic, but I found this 'universal' seal, as opposed to a Baumatic replacement ...
So...if all else above fails, try this, or this site, good price and delivery was very quick too

Thanks everyone, and thanks Fozzie.
Thought my prayers had been answered with that universal seal but our stupid oven has rounded corners...Bugger.
Back to the repair options!
I still have the broken (ripped in the corners where the teeth slip in). Could I just glue the whole thing back in and do without the metal teeth?
Is the seal still alive?
Is this why you need the metal hooks to restrain
the poor animal.
I know your avatar is a polar bear but
couldnt you just maul it....
or club it for heavens sake?

I'd go with the exhaust type silicon.
Give me the make and model and I will see how much for trade
Try these they are as cheap as chips and deliver.
