Ebay
Thinking about it - 25/9/10 at 09:23 AM

Not sold stuff on ebay for ages until recently.

Are there new rules now where the winning bidder then messes you about deciding if they want the item or not and not collecting or even paying?

Or do I just attract them?

Now I know while i just give stuff away on Freecycle.

Hmm, I sold a fire surround and its still here.. buyer just didn't bother and it cost me my listing/seller fees. Long way round the doors to get them back then I only have the option to leave positive feedback! No chance!

The big change is that sellers can't leave negative feedback for buyers any more, so buyers can mess you around without reprisal.

With ebay charges the way they are and the number of time wasters who bid with no intention of paying i some times wonder why we bother, any locost related bits i usually try here, haynes and wscc first, you may not get as much as the bay but no fees and genuine bidders.

If the buyer doesn't pay you can still file a non paying bidder report and get your fees back

I won some pu sealant and when I went to collect he handed me 6 tubes of silicone. I explained I had bid for pu not silicone, the picture showed pu in yellow tubes I got silicone in purple tubes he offered a refund, as I had only paid £1.98 I decided to keep them but left negative feedback, something I dont like to do.

ive got laods of 'seconds' kitchen stuff in the garage that i cant be bothered selling due to messers, will probably weigh it in as scrap eventually.

I sold 5 extractors and got 4 messers. (Actually 3, as one bid on two items...)
