/ Another genius leaves us to go to a better place!
How many of todays comedians could appeal to every generation, without swearing once ?
Another loss !

That will be "mainly on the Adriatic".

I loved NW films as a small kid ---- later iin life I thought he was a good serious actor and a nice genuinely warm human being.

That's really spoilt my day........
I remember watching him with my Grandad who looked and acted just like Norman. Imagine having a grandad like that. He was ace. Lets hope we'll have some re-runs of his old films and perhaps the occasional Last of the Summer Wine (not to be confused with Top Gear).

T66 - 5/10/10 at 11:58 AM

Steve Berry (ex Top Gear) on Rock Radio Manchester 106.1 (www.rockradio.co.uk) this morning said he was in an interview with him once.

He said he tried to join the army at 14 (as there were no jobs in London) but was told he was too weedy and should go to Wales and be a miner to build himself up.

So he walked to Wales, worked as a miner and then 2 years later walked back and joined the Army.

Lot's of today's 14 year old's wouldn't even walk to the job centre to sign on.

Greatest respect to a self made old fashioned great britain.
