Hi
I know some of you are into high tec stuff so maybe you could help...
Prob is my telly, its a bit naff tbh same weight as a pinto, great picture if you like red and blue blotches across it and its not even very large
What I want is a projector telly to err project the tv onto a screen on the wall
But I'm lost! there's soooo many types
what happened to small, big, bigger and huge?!? it all use to so simple, if you wanted a telly you
just looked at how big your wallet was...
Another problem is I'm a skinflint and won't spend over £600 on a telly, my god I could buy a great car for that!
Anyone got one that they'd recommend? what should I be looking for in one??
I want high definition, say a 4-5m image and be able to watch it during the day.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance
HD projection for under £600.... no chance!
but I've found HD 3D ones for under £500
I just don't know how to choose between them
Hi,
Have a look here http://www.projectorsite.co.uk/index.php?p=product&id=31&parent=0
You might find something that suits your needs.
Bob
Cost of replacment bulbs would be a good start... and the bulb life com to think of it

Ignore the projector idea, unless you want to spend ALOT more or spend a little more and always watch it in a dark room.
Get one of these (IMO)
http://www.richersounds.com/product/plasma-tv/panasonic/viera-txp42g20/pana-txp42g20a
or
PANASONIC TX-P42G15B 42' PLASMA FULL HD 1080P TV on eBay (end time 29-Oct-10 12:46:47 BST)
unless your room is more 10m long you wont need bigger.

We have a 3m x 2m ish projector screen in the office (we are an ops control office)
and even the fitters/maintenance guys told us not to use it for more tha 4 hours a day as it will overheat, and burn the bulbs out
our projector /screen is actually used for a max of 20 hours per month, and we change the bulbs roughley every 2-3 months
Our setup cost 10k, as its touch screen as well, and what a waste of money !!

Good site, used them a few times, although it isn't the best 1080p projector, but almost within budget. Keep an eye for ex-demo & clearance
stuff. Reviews are usually pretty impartial, IMO
Just re-read your original post, forget daylight (unless you have a small fortune lying around) Contrast Ratio & Lumens are the numbers your
looking for, although check the Db as well, as some projectors fans are very loud. Bulbs, in my experience anyway, last ages. Look out for offers of a
free spare bulb.
Also don't bother with a screen, there is a colour for the B&Q paint mixing machine that does a very good job on lining paper (just has to be
applied smoothly).
Hope some of that helps

On that sort of budget (or any budget to be honest), you can pretty much forget about it as a full TV replacement for everyday daytime viewing. Best
used for the movie 'experience' with a normal TV for everyday stuff. Projection is just too impractical really - sort of like having a
single seat race car as your commuting tintop
. Of course if you dont watch normal drivel and are only really thinking about movies in the evening,
then fine - have only a projector. Just my 2p.
in focus do a great range of projectors and a couple of the panasonics are also good. not good as a tv only set up though. as said before, standard def on a huge screen is not good!
