Hello all
My next door neighbour has had a strange problem with his car and it appears to be caused by his new i phone
He has a xsara picasso petrol and a week ago started cutting out whilst driving and pulling up at junctions,he took it to the garage who checked
everything including diagnostic check and nothing showed up at all.
The guy at the garage swopped cars with him for two days and reported no faults and ran great,my neighbour collected the car and went about his
business.30 mins later it cut out again nearly sending him into a roundabout due to brakes not being assisted (engine not running).
Drove the car back to the garage and the mechanic took the car out and it happened again, out of the corner of his eye he saw the screen flash on the I
phone on the holder,he thought it strange so he asked the guy how long has he had the phone which he replied just got it,try driving without it in the
car for a couple of days which he did and had no problems.
Put the phone back in and it cut out twice in a couple of mile.
If anybody is having any strange car problems check your phone, its not the first time it has happened to people so we are told
SIMPLES to fix hammer to phone
All these modern cars, with there gizmos pah!
I can lock my mondeo on the drive by attaching a battery charger to my 7 <<<
Problem is i havnt found out how to unlock it !!!
we have done it 3 or 4 times, with the only key to the mondeo sitting on the workbench
Steve
Well it couldn't possibly be that the Citroen is a totally Cr*p car then?

Funny that Mark that was the first thing i said to him !! he sold it now and bought a diesel Mondao
Worrying but I am not surprised. High powered transmitters (phone!) plus lots of car electronics, don't mix. I am hopping that cars never become completely "fly by wire" I would rather have a mechanical connection to brakes+steering but I wonder how long it will be till that changes?...
Is it possible that the phone is corrupting the signal in the imobilizer transducer (the ring around the key that picks up the RFID chip in the
key?)
Does the same thing happen if the phone is put in differnet locations within the car?
Tried putting it in "airplane mode" whilst driving?
