Ebay seller just cancelled my order, why????
carpmart - 7/12/10 at 06:24 PM

Hello all

I bought some fancy dress hats for a Chrimbo party and the seller obviously hasn't liked that fact I have bought more than one and got a postage discount from them (its the discount they set out) and has canceled my order!

I think this is quite strange as all the listings have had many sales before yet all of a sudden quality control lets them down!

Here is the email;

Dear Harvey Longden (carpmart),

very rude, clearly a lie. I would be in touch to politely as what the problem is and see if they can deliver anything you want.

MikeR - 7/12/10 at 06:39 PM

Is it perhaps a cover story due to the fact they're snowed in and can't despatch anything / get deliveries to cover the sales?

Stott - 7/12/10 at 06:39 PM

Yeah obviously a lie as 3 of the 4 items you ordered are now on their ebay shop listed with free postage so they probably re-listed them all and have now absorbed the postage costs in the product price. Especially as for instance the turkey hat is £2 oddd dearer than the others on ebay.

What a bunch of shts!

It's not the first time they've cancelled orders, check their negatives......

RichardK - 7/12/10 at 06:59 PM

Lucky escape mate, you'd probably look a right cock!

As said above they've got previous for it, very annoying so you'll have to come up with a bit of creative revenge.

Cheers

Rich

Leave them a big fat negative and shop elsewhere.

East Kilbride is very badly snowed in --- but he should have told the truth.

Hi Harvey,

Unfortunately the issue was with one particular item, number 24486. Unfortunately when items are purchased together and we are not able ship one of them we have to refund the entire order. If you check eBay you will see that the listing for this particular item was removed earlier today. Under normal circumstances we would source a replacement from our supplier in order to fulfil the order but extreme weather in Scotland has meant we have not had supplier orders for 2 days.

Please feel free to re-order the other items and accept our apologies for any inconvenience. We appreciate your understanding in this situation.

Regards,
Party Props

I just got the above from the seller!

I may have been a little harsh!

Still seems a bad business practice?

Were you paying less first time around with the combined postage than you would be this time around with the "free" postage?

That'll be the clincher

Very strange, but I have just had a sale cancelled, for the first time ever. The sellers excuse was that they had sold the item to another buyer.
I think the truth is that they expected to get more than the 99p that i won the auction at. The item was only a pen, but I refused to accept their cancellation and reported them to EBay for breaching the seller rules. In the listing they stated that they had large quantities of the item if anyone wanted to bulk buy. So how can they claim that they had sold 'it' to someone else.
I recently sold a set of wheels on EBay. Fully refurbished and with two very good tyres and two Yokohama's with less than 500 miles on them. I was gutted to only get £67, when the Yoko's had cost me £75 each. But that's the name of the game. I didn't put a reserve on, and lost out. They still got sent to the very lucky buyer.

Make a formal complaint to EBay - you've nothing to lose, and it will make you feel better.
