Bit of random one.
I bought a cheap elec razor during a fit of lazyness when i started uni 5 years ago and it made a right mess of my face so i went back to wetshaving
with half decent disposables every few days.
Now back at work having graduated and 4months in ive had more than enough of shaving every morning.
Anyone got any recomendations for a decent electric shaver for someone with useless skin? Disk or roller? Are the ones you can use wet any good or
just gimic?
Daniel
When I was 16 I decided that shaving every morning was a waste of my time - so I grew a beard. I still have a beard at 58!

Been having the same thoughts recently. I tried a foil shaver many years ago, but never got on with it and have always wet shaved since, but
it's a right fag. I did try bearding up earlier this year, but couldn't break through the itchy phase and in any case it started going
ginger after a week
Watching closely for recommendations...

I have an old Braun. 2nd one I have had, they usually last about 5 or 6 years before they blunt down. I never spend more than £50 ish.
Although I am seriously tempted to try out a safety wet razor, I think some people on here recomended the Merkur ones a while back. The reviews of
this type of razor seem to suggest they are a world apart from normal wet razors with their fifteen blades. Just one will do.
Although not sure whether I can be doing with it early in the morning.
But my wife says I'm too noisy getting ready for work in the mornings with my electric razor so maybe she would appreciate my swearing (when I
cut my chin) instead?
i have never found an electric that gives a good a shave as a decent wet shaver.
Im lucky enough not to need to shave mover than 2-3 times a week, but I always make sure I do it while im in or imdeiately after having a shower, that
way its real easy.
Will also be watching this to see if any one does recommend some good electrics that arent stupidly priced.
BOUght one of these last week:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Braun-Electric-Rechargeable-Shaver-System/dp/B0029Z9XNE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1294398531&sr=8-1
It's excellent.
Not quite as good as Mach 3 but much less faff and not at all irritating.
Serious, try a Gillette Fusion with some good 'King of Shaves' gel, there is nothing even half as close. They did a test on the Gadget show
last year with the very best electric razors and none could compete with the Fusion.
I shave in the shower every morning, clean, quick and super smooth (according to the very fussy wife!!).

Anything electric or wet used to just give me razor rash until I discovered shaving oil. Combined with a (slightly gimmicky) Fusion vibrating blade razor I now get a super smooth shave.

I find the fusion is ok, but only only if you only have a mm or so of stuble, anything more and it tends to tear rather than cut (i think the blades being so close to eachother they get clogged to quickly with longer hair). I prefer and still use the Mach3, with Nivea sensitive gel (can of Gel last 3-4 times longer than the foam). Preperation is the key, right at the end of the shower when the hair has been made as warm and wet as it can.
As Jasper say's in his post he shaves every day , for that you can't beat the Fusion unless you've tried a Turkish barber!Best shave ever

I hate wet shaving, makes my face very sore though I don't really have sensitive skin in general. I found the Philips rotary head shavers better
than the foil type ones, and I also find for me it works much better before a shower rather than after.
Electric shavers never give as close a shave as a blade, but then again it's quicker, less messy and you don't have to regularly buy
replacement blades at extortionate prices.
