never done that before, swapped the MB from the phone with the broken screen I got off ebay into my phone with the broken charger/MB - all very easy
apart from one rounded off screw 
but the drill made short work of that 
only thing is one row of the keys doesn't light up on the new MB - do you think its work asking the seller for a couple of £ back ?
lol never mind asking for a few uid back, i wouldn't have done all that in the first place

I found it a bit fiddly but easy once you have the right tools (T6 torx and one of those plastic pry-bars in this case)
should be easy for anyone whos ever taken a laptop apart (or even a car for that matter) - only problem seems to be getting some of the parts....
oh and if anyone needs any parts for a nokia N86 I've got lots of spares now (everything bar the motherboard)

I've changed the batteries in a couple of Mitech Mio sat navs and that's a bit nerve-wracking first time but it's great when they come
back to life My choice of tools is a bit more delicate than yours though 
I've stripped a Nintendo DS and XBox 360 apart. I find a few guitar plectrums are great tools, I got a load of ebay in various thicknesses, really cheap quality that I'm sure a proper musician would hate, but when used for prying plastic cases apart without damaging they are great. Less then £2 for 25
Question for the OP: difficult to explain but here goes.
I have an N86 that has developed a loose slider - that is, it no longer stays fully open when opened or fully closed when closed. There used to be a
slight but definite "ker-chunk" feeling when moved into either position.
Can you tell from your experience above or the bits left over if this is a property of the slider mechanism itself, or are there some plastic lugs or
posts in the housing that keep the slider in position when fully assembled but have no effect when the slider is out of its housing.
I've had the thing apart, and can't see any clues as to whether it's just friction that keeps it from moving normally, or whether like
I say there's some part of the housing that has worn down/broken off in my case. Difficult to find something that may not be there any more!
I hope you can help, this is driving me nuts with pocket dialling & the phone screen sliding down over the keypad while trying to text one handed
(oo-er) etc.
Basically I'm trying to narrow down whether buying a new slider off a well-known auction site would fix the problem or whether I need to buy some
plastics instead/as well.

sorry never had the slider part dismantled - as you know you can remove it with the screen as one assembly (6 screws hold it to the chassis) so I just
swapped over the whole assembly
but I have now got a spare one with a cracked screen

Even with the screen/slider together in one piece that might still help me narrow it down - does show any tendency to 'stay' at the point
between the 'up' slide and the 'down' slide? Or does it just slide loosely along the whole length of travel?
If it isn't completely loose my next question would probably be, how much do you want for it ;o)
