somehow, my dog has managed to cut his tail,and its been bleeding quite alot, as he has been wagging his tail and got blood up the walls in the kitchen, living room and utility room, all over the carpet in the living room and all over the kitchen units.

my dog did this when she was a puppy and I was quite worried at the time. Even now she has a very powerful tail that is sore if it hits you.

The only thing I could do was move her away from objects behind her when she was wagging like mad, she'd not leave anything like plasters alone so just make sure the cut is kept clean. Eventually your dog will stop hurting itself like this as it gets more aware of its own tail.

Friend of mine has a greyhound which appears to have no nerves whatsoever in
its tail. Hurts when it whacks you and the crack against hard furniture makes me
wince

My rabbit did this recently to her back foot. We couldn't work out where the blood was coming from for ages - even the vet couldn't figure it out. Problem with it being on her foot was that everywhere she went there was a trail of blood.

We eventually figured out, after cleaning up a blood-soaked kitchen half a dozen times that she had a sore that she kept biting, but there were some worried times leading up to the discovery of the cause!

A friends son did this after stepping on a glass at the side of the bed! Totally fubared most of the carpets in their house running about. Obviously they took him to the hospital as the priority rather than soak the blood and not let it dry...

Had they not heard of plastic cups for children?
