A bit windy out!
minitici - 23/5/11 at 03:54 PM

Some very strong gusts of wind here in Fife.
A couple of big branches have come off the oak trees in the front field
(sheep are enjoying the new leaves).
One branch ended up tangled in the overhead power lines
(now removed by Scottish Power).
My wheelbarrow was blown into my portable garage (tent type thing).
Patched up the hole with tape and moved the barrow to a 'safe' place.
Went back out a couple of minutes ago and the barrow had blown back and put another pair of holes in the side of the garage

right on the side of the clyde here, so no protection, and its very windy
no damage to anything (yet) but these huge pine trees at the end of the road are blowing over at some angle they're about 10 storeys high. wouldn't fancy one falling down.
the girls in the garden are doing alright though. they haven't blown away

i should say, the girls are my chickens lol

If this keeps up, then I guess you're whirly-gig won't be leaving it's hangar!

Not necessarily, if the job is not tat then we will go, only limitations are 50kts up its chuff, if its into wind or in lee of a hanger its fine.

Gets a bit uncomfortable but all part of the fun...

All our bridges are closed and the trainline across the forth is treebound.
And the bridges arnot expected to open till midnight. Glad I'm sitting tight

Good job I don't still live in Warrington, I think that town suffers wind the most...

First of all they close Thelwall Viaduct, forcing the entire M6 to divert either through Runcorn and over that high bridge (which they then close) or down the M62-60-56 way and over another (closed) high bridge... Thus half the north-south traffic of the country gets rammed through a town that struggles to cope if there's more than 10 cars at a traffic light
