Great News!,BBC F1 Commentator to be Ben Edwards
Surrey Dave - 13/12/11 at 05:24 PM

Excellent that will make it easy to stay with BBC , he's as good as Brundle.

He used to commentate with John Watson on Eurosport, he currently commentates for BTCC.

F1 isn't saloon car racing Nobody is as good as Brundle especially when paired with DC

Lets face it the BBC would rather spend a lot of money on junk Top Gear, only good thing is with Top Gear they can recycle all the old Last of the Summer Wine Scripts

i'll be watching brundle and the new f1 team on sky sports f1 hd and cant wait. you don't need to be a sky sports subscriber, just a £10 per month hd subscriber.

So not quite free then eh?

am sure that since the days of free to air sports,we are all,or mostly earning more money these days. i am sure im in the minority here but i think sky's tv,phone, internet packages are reasonably priced. it means i no longer need to go to the pub to watch the games so it saves me a small fortune each month, and the coverage is generally superb.
i am a sports fanatic though and watch all football, including foreign all motor sports, golf, rugby and boxing so for me its essential.i suppose im just luck there is no extra charges for f1

60% of the hours of TV actually watched on BSB Sky are free to air terrestrial TV carried by Sky, the BBC are currently fool enough to pay BSB sky to do this, in other countries the reverse is true SKY pay the terrestrial channels to carry free to air channels.

You really hate top gear dont you? Just turn the tv off and sit back in the knowledge that not one penny of your license fee is spent on it.

Where do you get your statistics from? Are these channels HD ones by any chance?

dlatch - 13/12/11 at 08:09 PM

On the positive side MotoGP next year with 1000cc engines and less rider aids should be awesome!

JC - 13/12/11 at 09:00 PM

Yep, Sky TV, internet etc. combined packages are great. Just can't get it all here in Lincolnshire - too far from the exchange! Makes it expensive.

Me too...but on Eurosport so without the irritating BBC commentary team. Moody & Ryder are so much better even if the MotoGP races are delayed.

Quite right, and you need to thank my kids for that : they have every bit of Top Gear merchandise on offer, so that the show makes a huge profit for the BBC. ( Just don't fall into the trap of thinking it is a "motoring" show )

Ben Edwards commentated on F1 years ago with John Watson and I thought it was good.

Brundle is good but quite partisan sometimes , he's had a few conflicts of interest managing drivers etc , and DC is good but he is attached to RedBull Racing ,and is very bitter with M.Schumacher so not always subjective, in fact I would say it was the old pals act that got him into the commentary box.

It never ceases to amaze me how expert ex drivers become when commentating or being a pundit!!

How many F1 races did Brundle win?, how did he match up when team mate to Schumacher.

Having said that I still think he is good at his telly job!
