hi

just wondering if anybody could tell me the best place to get dewalt 18v batteries, or are the non brand ones any good. thanks steve

Was wondering this myself only yesterday. There are loads on eBay, but they're expensive! Would be good to hear if anyone has tried the non-branded ones.

Cheers, Chris

I need to buy another 2

Had a non branded one, but the cases arent as robust as the original dewalt batteries. Both clips broke off the battery so i wont stay in the drill.

Can you not open the cases and replace the cells? I did this with the airflow welding screens at work, the battery packs were £120 each, a set of new cells cost a tenner from Farnell.

How did you refix the cells with the link strips, they a spot welded?

eBay has solder strips for sale and some sub C cells have strips included so I suppose you solder them?

Screwfix have reduced the price of Dewalt Li/ion drills to £140 at the moment complete with charger , battery and case . I'm thinking of buying another one ,taking the battery out and then putting the rest on ebay. The cost of the battery alone makes it worth considering?
