how do you find the cheapest holiday if you know the hotel you want to stay in?

we are definately going back to st tropez this summer for 10 days and know the hotel we want to stay in as stayed there last year. (next bay up from st tropez, called ste maxime) its much cheaper and amazing place. i have looked at a few places and prices seem all similar. (maybe 80 euros difference in 10 days)

Call them and ask to beat whatever you find anywhere else or to match what you got last year. Tell them you stayed there last year and would love to come back this year but you're looking for the best deal on it.

Failing that, look for the cheapest between lastminute.com expedia.co.uk and hotels.com and then check on quidco or topcashback to see whether they offer cashback.

There is a lot for rent in that area. What about apartments? There is a 6 day stay minimum often, but works out better than hotels and you get a kitchen. I've done that in Venice, Menton (the other side of Monaco), Camogli and other places.

we are n ot too keen on self catering tbh. if we did we would hire a villa probably. but away from coast to avoid high premiums!

We had a great holiday a few years ago, renting a flat from a friend near Marbella.

We went back a 2nd time and it was a mistake- it just wasn't as exciting going to somewhere familiar. We already knew where everything was and we'd already done/seen the best things in the area.

Cheers,
James

You could try lastminute or expedia. I tend just to google the hotel and look on these types of sites and see what comes up. Invariably if its a mainstream hotel, eg, holiday inn or hilton for example, I do tend to find the best deals on their own websites.

BTW we are also heading in that direction, in a villa with the all important pool, just along from St Raphael, taking the V-Storm and hopefully have a bit of fun in the car while we are there. SWMBO's flying to Nice though, as the cars not really in her comfort zone

Have a good one

St Raphael is just a few km from Ste maxime. Been to Frejus once too! It'll be good fun in the v storm
