Would like a bit of help with the value of a Vice.
I believe it is a Record 6inch Vice with Quick Release. Any thoughts ?

Hi,
I have one that is less good condition and paid £30.00 several years ago. Don't let that vice go it is the best, far better than any Ch.....e
crap. I would suggest looking at it it is worth £50.00
Ta, its not mine --- yet..
I am thinking about buying it, but need to sort out pick up/shipping.. I reckon carrier pigeon may not work
I'll weigh it in for you if you send it to me
Seriously though £40-50 i would have thought
If it's a 6" they're about £200 new. I bought a shed for £100 with a bench and vice included, the shed is long gone but the vice is
staying
£50 would be a fair price and if you can get it for less snatch his hand off.
It's in pretty good nick. My guess would be between £80 & £120..........

If you can get it for £50 snap his hand off. It'll outlive all of us.
The ones with quick release are called engineers or engineering vices just for info, and they are incredibly expensive new.
I've got a 4" engineers record myself and was shocked when I checked the price as I was given it as a brand new spare, why on earth someone
had a spare vice is beyond me.

I paid £40 for one the same about 15 years ago , even then it was a bargain
I just got a new one at work - 6" with quick release - a snip at £340
Some monkey broke the last one............and I do mean broke , as in clean through
Mine came out of a 60's race shop, I wouldn't change it for the world, cost me 75 pounds just to replace the jaws, worth every penny.
Im suprised the work mate can handle the weight!
The workmate was designed by an oldtime Lotus Engineer!
I think it is going to be too big for what I need anyway.
If anyone on here wants it. The guy is asking £50 for it (perhaps an offer can be made
) and it is based in Halesowen, west midlands.
Drop me a U2U and I will try and get you in touch.
Cheers
