I have news from Alan
Fozzie - 8/9/04 at 08:24 AM

Mornin all,

Switched on the computer this morning, and there was an email sitting there for Mrs AlanB.
After a very firghtening weekend, where they were expecting it to hit Saturday pm, the hurricane hit in the early hours of Sunday. It was more diminished in strength than expected which was good news.
No damage to any of Als families places except for an out building (barn) at his parents.
A few uprooted trees and a new 'lake' on the homestead, which they have christened 'Lake Frances' LOL
The power was restored yesterday pm (florida time).
Mrs Al, said that she never wants to go through that again, and next time, they will evacuate!
As far as I know, Alans car is fine

Just wanted to let you know how Alan & Co. had faired, and wrote on here as soon as I got the news.
If there is owt more to add, I will do so later.

fozzie

Yes it's good to hear that you are fine, my grandparents live in Ft Lauderdale, and they had a window blown out of their living room, besides glass being embedded in every surface in their place and some slight water damage they didnt fare too bad.

I'm starting to feel frances up here, mostly just clouds and the occational sprinkle.

I also hear another good friend Ivan might be heading your way soon too, he seems pretty pissed off too.

Jasper - 9/9/04 at 08:43 PM

Up in Boston today - and the wind just started to blow hard - tail end of Alan's hurricane coming through

Glad to hear you're ok Alan.......
